Kinetic Sailing provides instruction, tailored to your specific needs and time schedules. Instruction runs the gamut:
  • Private on-the-water instruction and assessment upon request – onboard our local fleet, or on your own boat!
  • Customized training to target a specific skill area
  • Instruction/certification through ASA school Sail Solomons
  • ASA Instructor Qualification Clinics and preparation
  • On-Your-Own-Boat instruction, from basic sailing and docking to coastal and ocean passage-making
  • Instructional OYOB passages and deliveries
  • Mile-building, experiential voyages
  • On-the-Water, Classroom, or Virtual Online
  • Private or group instruction on charter boats or flotillas
  • Sailing, Docking, Seamanship, Navigation, Weather, Preventive Maintenance

Kinetic Sailing’s instructors are US Coast Guard licensed and certified instructors for American Sailing and NauticEd.  Additionally, they hold certification through the Royal Yachting Association and the Naval Sailing Association. 

Both life-long sailors, Andy Batchelor and Lisa Batchelor Frailey have been full-time professional sailing instructors since 2006, and frequent recipients of ASA’s “Outstanding Instructor” award.  They are the founders of Sail Solomons Sailing School, which was awarded ASA’s “Outstanding School” five consecutive years when under their ownership and leadership.  Andy and Lisa are the authors of ASA’s Bareboat Cruising Made Easy , Cruising Catamaran Made Easy , and Going Ashore Made Easy textbooks, and the principal contributors to ASA’s Advanced Cruising and Seamanship text. 

Andy and Lisa continue to provide ASA instruction and certification at Sail Solomons.
